Eligibility required to pursue Defence and Strategic Studies


In order to get enrolled with an institution in India or abroad with the course on Defence and Strategic Studies, the eligibility varies from course to course, and institution and discipline. For getting admission to Indian Universities under Integrated programs or Master’s Programs, a minimum score of 50% is required for sure, but also an aspirant must appear for National-level Eligibility Examinations or Competitive Examinations like the CUET (Central Universities Entrance Tests) followed by Viva-Voce which depends on the choice of the institutions to conduct.


For pursuing Research or Doctoral Programs in India, a Candidate will have to clear National Level Eligibility Exams like the University Grants Commission UGC-NET or PhD-entrance exams held by respective Universities along with an Interview to be eligible. In that case, having Publications and relevant experience in Research may also give an edge in terms of eligibility to a candidate for seeking admission.


Abroad having relevant Scores on Language Proficiency tests and a Strong-Statement of Purpose along with good grades and a Fellowship or Scholarship is a necessity to get admission into Universities offering this discipline.

Course Duration and Fees


The Duration of each course depends upon the nature of the courses, like for;

  • Master’s Degree Courses are for 2 years and 4 semesters

  • Diploma Courses can be either for 9 months or even 1.5 years
